supports the expansion of functionality through the development of user scripts in Python for solving applied spatial data processing tasks. However, using this mechanism was difficult for many users due to the need for programming skills. The new video tutorial demonstrates an approach that removes this limitation by using AI tools for script preparation, making automation more accessible to GIS professionals.
The video material examines the full cycle of solving an applied task: from formulating data processing requirements to creating a working automation scenario based on the MAPAPI interface of the "Panorama" core. Before starting, the environment must be configured: installing Python, the Cursor code editor, and GIS "Panorama". To solve applied tasks, the is recommended, containing code examples and supporting materials for creating custom spatial information processing scenarios. This approach allows transitioning from manual operations to building reproducible and scalable spatial information processing algorithms.
After configuring the environment, you need to open the project in Cursor, select an AI agent, and give it a prompt to write a Python script for a specific spatial data processing task. The user can formulate queries in natural language, after which the AI generates the basis of a software solution, which is then adapted to the specific project requirements and data composition. Scripts obtained in this way are then connected to GIS "Panorama" and executed. This makes working with Python more accessible, lowers the barrier to starting development, and allows faster practical results without lengthy manual writing of repetitive code.
GIS "Panorama" already includes a basic set of ready-made automation scenario examples. These scripts demonstrate typical spatial data processing tasks and can be used as a foundation for developing custom solutions. They include processing and editing objects (e.g., shifting objects, creating grids), working with coordinates and elevations from matrices, semantic analysis and processing, label generation, calculating areas and object characteristics, importing and exporting data, as well as spatial analysis tasks including data and distance calculations along road graphs.
Ready-made examples are used to solve a wide range of practical tasks: from preparing cartographic materials and maintaining cadastral data to territory analysis, transport calculations, and automating the processing of large spatial data arrays. Using these scenarios allows users to quickly implement automation into their daily work and adapt solutions to their requirements.
The MAPAPI interface of the "Panorama" core provides a set of functions for working with spatial data. Combined with Python and AI tools, it creates a modern automation environment that expands user capabilities in solving applied tasks.

KB "Panorama" has developed GIS "Operator" version 15.4.2 for the "Astra Linux Special Edition" OS. The new version implements a unified map printing dialog with support for PDF, PostScript, and color separation, expands the protocols and data formats of connected geoportals. Support for topological relationships when editing vector maps has been improved, settings for generating explanatory labels of object properties on special maps have been supplemented, and the ability to edit fonts in the classifier has been added.
The program includes a new designed for comprehensive preparation of cartographic materials for output. The dialog provides selection of the print area, setting the required scale, configuring page-by-page sheet layout and print output parameters, as well as generating PDF and PostScript files. Extended color representation modes are supported, including RGB, CMYK, and color separation, allowing the new tool to be used both for operational printing of working materials and for preparing cartographic products for polygraphic publication. The implementation of a unified print dialog improves usability, reduces output parameter setup time, and expands the capabilities for preparing materials for publication and duplication.
with tiles in pbf/gpkg format has been added, which contain vector information, semantics (attributes), and metadata for various display scale levels. A multi-scale map is created for layers from such geoportals. The task automatically assigns styles in the form of graphic primitives for each object type. Vector maps can be opened in the same project with vector maps, remote sensing data, databases, and geoportals operating under other protocols.
When editing vector map objects in the modes , , and , the ability to position at the center of a segment has been added for the "Capture Contour Point" operation. When capturing a contour node, a square marker appears on the screen; when capturing the center, a diamond-shaped marker appears. This method simplifies the placement of point and vector signs on the contour of another object. Area object merging has been improved. Before merging, automatic contour preparation is performed: removal of double points and alignment of adjacent contour segments considering the location of the starting points of external contours relative to the contours of the attached object. This procedure increases the reliability of merging objects that have area overlap.
In the new version, the mechanism for generating and displaying vector has been improved. A label can contain permanent text or be formed based on the semantic characteristics of the object using references to the corresponding semantics. The ability to specify alternative semantics used in the absence of the main value has been implemented. Tools for configuring the label format when displaying units of measurement have been expanded. Support for selecting individual attributes from composite semantics, including obtaining values from repeating semantic characteristics, is also provided. The changes made provide increased flexibility in configuring vector sign labels and expand the possibilities for generating displayed data depending on the composition of the object's semantic characteristics.
The classifier editor includes a font for configuring font design parameters used in creating and maintaining digital classifiers. The tool allows setting basic font characteristics, including custom name and height, ensuring centralized management of the classifier's font set and simplifying their subsequent application when configuring the display of cartographic objects.
GIS "Operator" SE is a universal domestic geographic information system for law enforcement agencies. The program is designed for accumulation, storage, automated processing, and display of data, calculation results, and forecasts that have geospatial reference. GIS "Operator" SE contains tools for displaying and processing vector, raster, and matrix maps. The application provides users with tools for solving specialized tasks such as modeling the movement of special objects against a 3D model background, forecasting the consequences of emergencies at hazardous facilities, monitoring aircraft movement, conducting geodetic and topographic works, processing data from GPS/GLONASS navigation devices, printing displayed spatial data on various output devices, and many others.

KB "Panorama" has prepared a software for thematic mapping based on data, which allows automatically creating visual maps of socio-economic indicators for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation. The new mode is designed to work with official Rosstat summary tables and provides rapid conversion of tabular data into a ready-made thematic map. The user simply selects the indicator of interest, specifies the column with values, and the system automatically calculates gradations, selects a color scale, and generates a vector map with a legend and labels.
The tool is especially in demand when solving problems of monitoring the socio-economic development of regions, preparing analytical materials and presentations for government authorities, as well as when generating reports. It allows quickly comparing statistical indicators with territory, identifying patterns, and visually assessing differences between constituent entities.
Using the mode significantly reduces the labor costs of preparing thematic maps. The need for manual data processing, setting up classifications, and designing legends is eliminated – all stages are performed automatically. At the same time, configuration flexibility is maintained: the user can set value ranges, choose a color scheme, and control data display.
Additionally, the ability to load and update statistical tables directly from the Rosstat portal has been implemented, ensuring the relevance of the information used. Built-in data preview simplifies the selection of indicators and verification of the correctness of source values.
The result of the work is a ready-made vector map, which automatically opens in and can be used for further analysis, design, and publication. The use of the new tool makes it possible to significantly accelerate the preparation of analytical materials, increase the clarity of data presentation, and ensure a unified approach to thematic mapping based on official statistics.
