Specialists from KB "Panorama", together with students from MIIGAiK, have prepared a video tutorial on working with the "Building Thematic Diagrams" mode. This task is available in GIS "Panorama", GIS "Operator", and other software products from KB "Panorama". Thematic diagrams are a graphical representation of data, showing the spatial distribution and interrelationships of various natural, socio-economic, and other phenomena in a specific territory.

The video tutorial demonstrates the process of forming a thematic diagram based on pre-selected map objects. The sequence of setting parameters in each tab of the mode's dialog box is considered. Furthermore, users will learn how to save the current session settings for their further use and how to load a previously saved configuration. This ensures complete restoration of all procedure parameters: the list of characteristics, their colors, and conventional names.

This training material will be useful for specialists for visual data analysis, identifying hidden patterns, and presenting complex information clearly to a wide audience. You can familiarize yourself with the training materials in the "Video Tutorials" section.

KB "Panorama" has developed the Database of Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data version 9.3.0. The program now enables working with new data types, such as point clouds, 3D models, and complex models including orthophotomaps and elevation matrices. The system administrator independently adds and configures the data type, defines the list of metadata fields and their display order. When placing data into storage, all information is processed according to predefined rules, and all necessary metadata is populated. Expanding the data list allows for accommodating the specifics of federal-level spatial data funds and large companies.

A new metadata type has been added: a link to previously uploaded documents. Thematic directories, for example, for acts, reports, data sheets, and accompanying documents, are dynamically generated. Searching for all files linked to a specific raster, map, or matrix is provided. Support for linking to one or multiple documents at once is included.

For convenient metadata editing, both full and abbreviated field lists are implemented. By default, the field list during editing matches the list displayed in the table. To view the remaining fields, simply expand the full panel. Map-scheme updating after metadata editing has been optimized. If the edited data does not affect the scheme's appearance, no update occurs. Control for date-type fields during metadata editing has been added.

To work with metadata in other applications, the ability to export decoded field names in addition to the database field names has been added. Export to XML, CSV, XLSX, and DOC formats is supported.

All user actions are logged. Recording comments for performed operations has been added to the event log, and the recording of diagnostic messages has been expanded.

Data security is ensured by access control based on security tools included in the operating system. Standard authentication, digest authentication, system authentication (via web server), and domain authentication (Kerberos or ActiveDirectory) are supported. Additional security is provided by using pass-through authentication when working with the database. Connection to the database occurs with the rights of the user working with the system. The complex is adapted to work on a wide range of operating systems (Astra Linux SE, Ubuntu, RED OS, MS Windows, and others) and architectures (Intel, Elbrus, Baikal). The program is registered in the Russian Software Register under number 1862.

The Database of Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data forms the foundation for building spatial data infrastructures at federal, regional, and municipal levels, as well as in corporate information systems. Within a unified geoinformation space, it implements the collection, storage, quality control, search, and distribution of spatial data in exchange formats. Selected spatial data can be deployed for multi-user access on the GIS Server and published according to international OGC standards (WFS, WFS-T, WMS, WMTS, WCS) on the GIS WebService SE application server. Users can access data both from a thin client (via GIS WebServer SE) and from desktop applications (GIS "Panorama", GIS "Operator"). The Database of Digital Maps and Remote Sensing Data enables building a cloud storage for spatial data, providing access to this data, and automated formation and updating of geo-coverages.

The current state of spatial data is displayed using map-schemes, maintained for each type of stored data: vector maps, remote sensing data, elevation matrices, and terrain models. Remote placement of spatial datasets into file storage, versioning of stored datasets, updating of data availability map-schemes, automated collection and formation of metadata, and creation and updating of geo-coverages are provided. Automated metadata collection and formation comply with ISO 19115:2003, Geographic information — Metadata, and ISO/TS 19139, Geographic information — Metadata — XML schema implementation. Thumbnail images of data are automatically generated, file checksums are verified, and dataset completeness is checked. Placing spatial data into file storage includes integrity checks, control of data structure and content. Work results are logged and entered into the metadata database. Automated backup of metadata and the spatial data storage with integrity control and data recovery is ensured. A multilingual interface is supported.

The "Bank of Spatial Data" portal demonstrates capabilities for organizing storage, accounting, and distribution of vector maps, remote sensing data, elevation matrices, and terrain models. The portal contains vector maps in SXF format, created based on data from open sources (OpenStreetMap, VMap0). The spatial data includes maps of Russian Federation subjects, countries, and cities of near and far abroad. In total, over 430 vector maps and 6,700 matrix datasets with a total volume exceeding 240 GB. Specialists from KB "Panorama" weekly update and refresh the information on the portal. All published data is distributed free of charge under a free license.

The new version of the program is available for download on the Download page.

Specialists of KB "Panorama" prepared and placed on the geoportal "Bank of spatial data" the map of Krasnodar Krai. The map is formed according to OpenStreetMap data. To work with it, you can use the GIS Panorama Mini program or other software products of KB "Panorama".

The map was led to the modernised classifier of large-scale plans of scale 1: 5 000 (map5000m) and saved into a packed project (MPTZ). The project of MPTZ format includes a digital map on the territory of the region (country, subject of the federation, administrative area) and a digital classifier. Placement of updates in the bank of spatial data is made by using the program of Databank of digital maps and remote sensing data. Publishing contents of the bank of spatial data on the geoportal and data access for downloading are implemented by means of GIS WebServer SE.

Free maps on the basis of OpenStreetMap data are available for download on the page "Digital maps".

Specialists from KB "Panorama," together with students from MIIGAiK, have prepared a video tutorial on working with the "Legend Formation" mode in the "Report Designer" task panel. The discussed task is available in GIS "Panorama", GIS "Operator", and other KB "Panorama" software products for the "Astra Linux Special Edition" operating system.

The video lesson demonstrates the process of creating tables of conventional symbols for maps, with the ability to add ready-made images to them. Important features are separately discussed, for example, that a legend is created for objects of one classifier, and when working with multiple maps, the system uses data from the first one. The formation of semantics and annotation lists is considered. The principle of automatic annotation filling is explained; their values are taken from the first found object of the corresponding type on the map. The finished legend can be saved as a map in SITX format or as a graphic file in JPG format. When the "Add to Report" option is activated, it will be automatically inserted into the report as an inset map or image.

The video material will be useful for specialists involved in preparing report documentation and creating map marginalia when preparing maps for publication. Training materials can be found in the "Video Lessons" section.

KB "Panorama" has developed GIS Constructor for Qt Designer SE version 15.1.1 for OS "Astra Linux Special Edition", OS "Alt Linux", RED OS, Ubuntu. The new version includes an expanded list of available geoportals, including vessel monitoring services and data in PBF and ESRI formats. Reliability when working with external services has been improved, and support for the "RED OS" operating system has been implemented.

Authorization via the Keycloak system has been added to the task of connecting geoportals, and new data sources have been included. "Ship Movement Monitoring (MarineTraffic)" has been added to the list of connectable geoportals. This geoportal allows real-time tracking of ship movements worldwide. Users are provided with information about destination, course, speed, vessel type, ship dimensions, country of registration, and estimated time of arrival. Geoportals with data in PBF format and ESRI layers (Sentinel-2, Agriculture, Infrared, and others) have been included. Connection to services of the SOOI of the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources, Rosleskhoz, GISOGD of the Chelyabinsk Region, and FGIS TP has been added.

Interaction with external geoportals has been improved. The ability to connect to WMTS services using the commonly accepted tile addressing format has been implemented, simplifying integration with cartographic sources from third-party systems. The data exchange algorithm with external portals under unstable connections has been optimized. Now, if the requested information is temporarily unavailable on the service, the connection remains active. Corresponding records of erroneous network requests are added to the diagnostic log. If the connection is lost (e.g., due to a weak communication channel), reconnection checks occur after an interval specified in the GIS kernel library settings file, balancing fault tolerance and avoiding excessive network requests.

Company specialists have updated digital classifiers for creating aeronautical charts, dfc.rscz and dfc_en.rscz. Significant changes have been made in the new edition to enhance the detail and accuracy of aeronautical data. Steps have been taken to update the airspace structure, including air traffic service, airspace restrictions, ATS routes, waypoints, and radio navigation aids. Conventional symbols in the "Obstacles" layer have been aligned with ICAO requirements; new objects have been added to the "Aerodrome Network" and "Waypoints and Navaids" layers. Furthermore, attribute characteristics for objects in the "Routes" layer have been expanded. These changes ensure an up-to-date representation of airspace structure, air traffic service, aerodrome network, and obstacles. The GIS supports working with various types of digital classifiers that define the organization and presentation of spatial data. Besides aeronautical charts, the application provides access to classifiers for nautical charts (s57navy.rscz) and other specialized symbol sets. Classifiers contain a complete description of map layers, objects, their properties, and display rules, defining the appearance of various objects on screen and when printing. Current versions of symbol sets are available for download in the "Classifiers" section.

"RED OS" is a Russian Linux-based operating system for servers and workstations. It complies with Russian Government requirements, is included in the Russian Software Register, and certified by FSTEC of Russia. The system is built on an RPM-based package base, assembled from Open Source code and proprietary solutions by "RED SOFT". Development is conducted in a closed environment, and all components are stored in a repository within Russia. For legal entities, the OS is provided on a paid basis; for individuals, it is free for non-commercial use.

GIS Constructor is adapted for a wide range of operating systems (Astra Linux Special Edition, RED OS, Alt Linux, Ubuntu, Windows, Elbrus, QNX) and architectures (Intel, ARM, Elbrus). The toolkit includes components for visual design of GIS applications and libraries of a multiplatform, multithreaded GIS kernel. GIS Constructor provides a cross-platform MAPAPI interface, allowing a programmer to develop in their preferred operating system. A developer can release GIS applications for a set of operating systems by simple compilation with minimal changes to the program source code.

The new version of the program is available for download in the Download section.
